Our Top 6 Maternity Styles for Summer.

Pregnancy comes in all different shapes, sizes. Add in a few 35+ degrees days, a festive season and maybe even a wedding or two, things can start to get a little uncomfortable. We’ve compiled a few of our favourite (and stylish) tips and tricks to consider for this summer season if you’re sporting a bump.

Conscious shopping: It's easy to get excited and want to shop for new pregnancy pieces, but take into consideration what you already have in your wardrobe. Staple pieces like a stretchy or loose fitted dresses, white shirt and flat shoes are ideal for the ever-expanding bump and won’t waste away in your wardrobe post-pregnancy.

Linen: Opt for light-weight and breathable fabrics to stay cool (and as comfortable as possible!) during those dry, hot summer days. Linen has been scientifically proved to be more cooling fabric than cotton or silk, thus making it a comfortable material for summer due to its high moisture absorptivity and relative stiffness.

Luxury Maternity Underwear: If you're going to make any luxe fashion purchase this pregnancy, we'd highly recommend equipping your wardrobe with some luxe maternity underwear. You may be thinking that there's "no such thing" but maternity label Six has re-defined maternity underwear, whilst not compromising on style and functionality for all stages of pregnancy and motherhood. Their range is made with premium French leavers lace and Italian jerseys, making them comfortable and appropriate for those long summer days.

Embrace a belt: It may not be your first thought when assembling your maternity wardrobe, but don't be so quick to dash that favourite belt away until post-pregnancy days. If you're carrying high, we'd recommend loose or stretchy dresses with a belt fastened above your bump, helping to add a bit of extra shape and luxe style to your look.

Overalls and rompers: For those days lounging around the house, heading out to the grocery store or catching up with friends at brunch, dressing in overalls could prove to be a practical and comfortable choice. Opt for light-weight, overalls or rompers with a plain white tee for a casual look or a top with patterns and a pop of colour for a more dressier occasion.

Rent your wardrobe: If you've got a summer wedding or festive family event coming up and wondering where on earth you're going to find a formal dress that's both glamorous and practical, why not rent?
Glamcorner has a range of designer dresses perfect that are suitable for any stage of pregnancy. With designer dresses from Ginger and Smart, Zimmerman, Pasduchas and many more, you're bound to find an outfit that'll have you and your bump glowing (in all the right ways!)
